Vicki Pettersson is the author of the "Zodiac" series starring Joanna Archer. Her lastest novel, "THE TOUCH OF TWILIGHT" is out in June
1) What got you interested in writing?
The short and easy answer is reading. There are few things I love better than getting completely lost in a book, in someone else's world and mind and imagination. Fortunately, one of those things is writing, and I feel honored every day when I sit down to the page knowing I get to provide the same escapism for someone else.
2) What made you interested in the genre in general and why write in it?
Honestly, I'm not sure I had a choice in the matter. I think the things you're meant to find - the big things, the ones that take up years of your life - find you. My childhood and young adult reading was taken up wholly by fantasy, so after I got over having majored in English Lit, it was only natural (I can now see in retrospect) that I return to it.
3) Tell us your latest work.
That would be June release of THE TOUCH OF TWILIGHT, the third book in my Signs of the Zodiac series. In it, Joanna Archer faces off against a being even the most accomplished of her allies haven't seen before...and one which her enemies, the Shadows, fear as well.
4) What is next up for you? After THE TOUCH OF TWILIGHT in June, I have a short story included in THE MAMMOTH BOOK OF VAMPIRE ROMANCE slated for release in August. My contribution is entitled 'Remember the Blood' and I had a blast sticking my toe in the waters of that popular sub-genre. I'm currently working on the fourth book of the Zodiac series, and a related short for an Eos anthology also featuring Kim Harrison, Melissa Marr, Jeaniene Frost, and awesome newcomer Jocelynn Drake. I'm really excited about that one.
5) If you could have lunch with anyone, living or dead, from this genre who would it be?
Ray Bradbury, Stephen King, or Neil Gaiman.
